Meet Kim Roxie, Founder of LAMIK Beauty

How do you get a product to market and even into a major retailer? Kim Roxie opened her own shop at age 21 with only a $500 investment. She later became the youngest African-American woman to have her products carried in a major department store.

After running her shop for 14 years. she pivoted in 2019 and launched LAMIK as an e-commerce beauty company. Just a year later, she secured a partnership with an augmented reality company to launch a tech-enabled website that allows consumers to digitally try on cosmetics. And, now you can find her products in ULTA too.

She has received numerous awards including:

  • Barack Obama Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service
  • American Business Journal’s Most Influential Young Executives
  • The City of Houston formally named June 23rd as Kim Roxie day
